The short answer: Bolt is an AI app builder whose Teams plan covers sharing and deploy controls for Bolt projects. VibeHub builds nothing — it's where a company's AI-built internal tools run and get governed regardless of origin: Bolt, Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor, v0. One is a workshop; the other is the building's keys, alarm, and logbook.
Comparison as of July 2026. Bolt evolves quickly; check their docs for current capabilities.
Capability comparison
| Capability | Bolt | VibeHub |
|---|---|---|
| Builds the app from a prompt | ✅ core product | ❌ by design |
| Private sharing with a team | ✅ Teams | ✅ |
| Deploy controls for admins | partial (admin deploy controls) | ✅ |
| Connect the database you already use | ✅ | secrets/env-based |
| Governs apps built in other tools | ❌ | ✅ |
| Audit log of access and changes | ❌ | ✅ |
| One-click rollback | ❌ | ✅ |
| Kill switch | ❌ | ✅ |
| Private by architecture (no public state) | partial | ✅ — identity gateway on isolated origins |
Where Bolt is genuinely strong
No strawmen: Bolt's build experience is excellent, its Teams plan really does share deployed apps with a workspace, and "connect the DB you already use" is a real advantage when the app's whole job is talking to your existing database. If your company's internal tooling is a couple of Bolt apps used by a small team, Bolt Teams is enough.
The structural gap
Bolt's controls apply to apps born in Bolt. Three realities make that ceiling matter:
- No company standardizes on one builder. The COO prototypes in Bolt, the analyst lives in Claude Code, the founder uses Cursor. Bolt governs its third; the CLI-built tools — usually the most serious ones — have no deploy-and-share path at all.
- Day 2 is nobody's product — except ours. Builders compete on idea → app. The creator leaving, the API key rotating, the ex-employee's link still working, the security questionnaire asking "how do you govern internal tooling?" — that's the ongoing responsibility VibeHub is built around: registry, audit trail, rollback, kill switch, transferable ownership.
- Origin-level privacy. VibeHub apps run on isolated origins behind an identity-checking gateway. There is no public state to misconfigure into existence.
Using them together
The practical setup isn't either/or:
- Build in Bolt (or anything else) — whatever gets the tool working fastest.
- Export and upload to VibeHub when the tool becomes a team tool: real users, real credentials, real uptime expectations.
- Every subsequent tool, from any builder, lands in the same registry with the same login.
Build anywhere. Run it on VibeHub.
